Hawaiian Themed and Wrinkly Macaron Shells

These Hawaiian themed macs are crazy!

This baking session was a little challenging.  For whatever reason the baking gods where angry with me and gave me two bad batches.  With a big exam next week in my microbio class and this order of macarons I was getting frustrated and forgot why I try to bake at a time like this.  The end result gave me a reminder.  These came out so adorable!  I literally squealed and praised them as I packed them.

WRINKLED MACARONS!!!
I didn't know what I did wrong and I was cursing my ceiling a couple times.  When you encounter wrinkly tops and an under cooked macaron don't fret.  Re-examine your dry measurements and make smaller batches to isolate the problem.  In my case I really think I was over measuring my dry ingredients with my new measuring cup.
I have a party and a luncheon next week and will need to make about 30 dozen cookies.  I am NOT using my new measuring cup and sticking to my old trusty 1 cup measure.  Sure, it will add time to my measuring but honestly I could care less about shaving 2 minutes of prepping my kitchen if it means I will have perfect batches.  Crossing my fingers... maybe will make a test batch tonight... but I'm not kidding myself.  I have to study!

Hi everyone!  I have just received and am incredibly excited  for these orders of luster dust (super gold and petal yellow) and Americolor gel food coloring (super black and electric yellow).  I plan on using them on my next couple party orders.  I will post my review and outcomes soon!

By my (scary) calculations I'm going to be baking over 300 macarons.  The thing I am worried about most is transport... I have design elements in mind that wont let me vertical pack the macs, they would have to be flat packed to safely get these beauties to their destination.  I will brainstorm and let you guys know what I come up with.
